Good Thursday all-
Today is going to be very, and I mean very, similar to yesterday. Sure the snow won't accumulate quite as much, but you can certainly expect scattered heavy snow squalls through the day today. As much as 2" could fall in unlucky areas. Tomorrow looks dry, although I can't rule out snow showers as a nor'easter passes safely by to our southeast. The weekend looks dangerously cold. Temperatures Saturday night may be negative 5 to negative 15 AIR TEMPERATURE. To make matters worse, there will be a very strong northerly wind, so wind chill values will be near NEGATIVE 30!!! It's just brutal. Fortunately, the cold won't hold early next week, but we'll likely be dealing with a storm sometime around Tuesday...but plenty of questions remain with that one.
Today in weather history- February 11, 2006- The Great Blizzard of 2006 wallops New England and New York, dropping 30" of snow on Fairfield, and 26.9" of snow at Central Park, their #1 biggest snowstorm on record.
