2/8- STORM WARNING- Major nor'easter drops snow

Good Monday all-

A WINTER STORM WARNING is up for everyone except Fairfield and Litchfield Counties, which have WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES.

I see no reason to change my forecast from yesterday, so here we go. Most of the schools in Connecticut are closed today, and that's probably a smart call, as the heaviest of the snow will be falling between about 11 and 4 today. Snow will continue on and off however until THURSDAY...which obviously is a bit of a concern. Additionally, I am getting increasingly concerned about 2 other timeframes- the Wednesday morning commute, where there an inverted trough could drop several inches of snow, and Friday night and Saturday, when there could be a monster nor'easter with tons of snow. Obviously...that one is out there...but the Euro is pretty excited about it, and it's only 4 days out...so let's see what happens!

Today in weather history- February 8, 2013 (what else)- Blizzard Charlotte/Nemo absolutely slams Connecticut, becoming the biggest snowstorm in 125 years for our area. As much as three and a half feet of snow fall along the I-91 corridor, schools are closed for a week or more, and everyone living in the jackpot areas experienced a true once in a generation event. There are no words to describe what it was like- the snow was up to my chest and I was snowed in from a Friday until at least the following Friday. It was unbelievable, and one day that I will always have in my heart.

Notably...this is the 3rd Monday in a row that the day after the Super Bowl has featured a major snowstorm- 2014's Winter Storm Derby and 2015's Winter Storm Ellie...also did so.
