Good Tuesday all-
A COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY is up for the shoreline of Fairfield County.
Today is going to be rather wet again, though we may get away with a dry afternoon as a coastal low moves out of our region. Considering the path it took, be glad it's not January! That said, we do have to watch the weekend.
The threat for the weekend storm is lower than it was yesterday, as both the Euro and the GFS have trended offshore to our east. That said...there certainly is no rule that says they cannot come back west, but the odds of a snowstorm are down to about 15%. If trends continue...the storm watch could be dropped tomorrow morning.
Otherwise...the forecast remains unchanged from yesterday...but don't be surprised to see snow flurries on Friday!
Today in weather history- March 15, 1987- A very bizarre event occurs as a storm drops 2ft of snow on Austin, NV (central Nevada) which is insanely hard to do because of the presense of the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the west. That section of the US is considered a desert, because most systems will "rain themselves out" on the western portion of those mountains, leaving nothing to fall on this region...it can happen though as seen here!
