3/2- STORM WATCH- Snow for Friday- how much?

Good Wednesday all-

Today is going to be rather unpleasant in all aspects- in the morning, it's going to rain- and then it will probably change to light snow before ending this afternoon...after knocking the temps down to the high 20s/low 30s. Tomorrow itself looks just fine as well. The problem lies just beyond it...

The models are becoming increasingly more nerve-wracking for Friday overnight. The question is whether we get a 2-4" deal from a clipper...or a monster blizzard with over a foot of snow. Right now...it's a tossup, quite honestly. The GFS has come WAY further north and west with the nor'easter overnight tonight and now crushes Cape Cod and even southern Rhode Island. Obviously, a duplicate west jog at 12z would yield the season's biggest snowstorm for Connecticut, with forecasts going through the roof and blizzard watches being issued tonight. I won't discuss the numbers yet if that happens, but suffice to say that they would be like Donald Trump's primary victories last night- yuge.

Regardless of whether we get a monster storm on Friday, the weekend looks nice and then spring lovers will rejoice as it appears we have a realistic chance of getting into the mid-70s(!) next week.

For now though, all eyes are on Friday. I always say hope for the best but expect the worst- so at least have plans in place should this monster storm come our way, because it is

Today in weather history- March 2, 2015- The final blow in a devastating winter for the northeast, Winter Storm Gavin drops 6" of snow on parts of Connecticut whilst being the final named storm of the 2014-15 winter that will long be remembered throughout New England.
