1/21- STORM WARNING- Moderate snowfall with strong wind

Good Thursday all-

The next couple of days are going to be pretty routine- partly cloudy and highs in the low 30s- but let's get to what everyone wants to know about.

First off- Manhattan & Long Island are under Blizzard Watches this morning. These may be extended into Connecticut later this morning but I do not expect to get THAT much snow out of this system here for now. The models last night did come north a fair amount however...enough to cause me to re-evaluate my totals a bit. Snow totals of well over a foot are now as close as Long Island...so ANY further northward jog brings 1-2ft of snow into southern CT. (One model, the NAM, does just this to lower Fairfield). Here is my snowfall map

As you can see, this will be most significant the further south and west you travel in the state, with the highest amounts in areas like Greenwich and Stamford, with the least falling near the MA border.

These numbers are by no means set in stone, a jog north or south by LITERALLY 20 miles causes these numbers to change drastically...so there is an extreme bust potential, but this is where I stand for now.

If anything significant changes today, I will let you know, but until then!
