HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE-
A WINTER STORM WATCH has been issued for the southern four counties
This is going to be a record-breaking day along the mid-Atlantic coastline as the storm that will be long remembered as the Great Blizzard of '16 begins to make its' presence felt. The impacts in New England, however, are far from certain.
If anything, the short range models are actually showing more snow than last night, with nearly all of them dropping over two feet of snow on our area. The global models, however, such as the Euro and the GFS, disagree tremendously, dropping rather harmless amounts on the area. That said...they are very close. That said, the GFS and Euro are now out of their comfort zone, so it's a high risk forecast. A literally twenty mile jog north would yield a historic blizzard for Connecticut. We are so, so close to something nutso, so please, all I can say is stay tuned. Seriously.
Please be careful and keep you eyes on the forecast today. Anything is possible.
This is the least confident I have been in a forecast in many years. Please forgive me for not knowing...but it happens when I get complex info from the models.
