12/10- Holiday season magic?

Good Thursday all-

*Steve celebrates his last day of classes for the fall semester*

Today is going to be only alright as showers unexpectedly have moved into the region this morning and likely are going to dampen your morning. The rest of today should not be too bad as the rain moves on and temps climb to the mid 50s. Tomorrow morning should be a lot like this one, but with more widespread rain potentially. The weekend looks special, particularly Sunday, when temps could enter the mid-60s, easily the record high for the day. A repeat looks likely on Monday, Tuesday looks wet.

Just beyond the 7 day forecast, there are strong signals of a nor'easter event about a week from tomorrow. I'm watching it closely indeed as the cold air will be in place...and it's possible that 12/18 will be the first big snowstorm of 2015-16.

The next chance for 3"+ of snow is- >7 days away...barely.

Today in weather history- December 10, 1949- Las Vegas, NV records its' record low barometric pressure of 987.8mb...which to be honest, is not really that low. By comparison...the eye of Hurricane Sandy when it made landfall in New Jersey was 940mb.
