Good Tuesday all-
Today is going to be our break in the weather, as we'll experience clearing skies and warm temperatures for the majority of the day. I'll forecast highs in the high 50s or low 60s today, but warn you to enjoy it while it lasts as a pattern-changing storm moves through Friday with more pouring rain. Sadly, that will be what knocks the temps back to normal as we'll have a very difficult time even achieving 40 degree readings on Saturday...along with snow showers that could be frequent enough to coat the ground in the unluckier (or luckier, depending on your view) areas. By early next week, a very slow moving system will probably last from Monday all the way until Christmas morning...which could cause a repeat of last year's high 50s and pouring rain!
The next chance for 3+" of snow is- >7 days away
Christmas forecast- AM rain, PM mostly cloudy, high of 58. *THIS CAN AND PROBABLY WILL CHANGE*
Today in weather history- December 15, 2013- Winter Storm Ashford winds down in Connecticut, but not before dropping a general 5-10" snowfall on most of Connecticut, with the highest amounts in the Litchfield hills, where Vernon hit the jackpot with 9.5". This storm was the first of 5 named storms in 2013-14, but they were all rather minor (especially compared to the previous year's Blizzard Charlotte)
