12/21- Welcome to Winter, but it doesn't feel like it

Good Monday all-

Today is going to be one of those annoying days when it's almost impossible to decide what to wear- a high at almost exactly 50, little wind, and mostly sunny skies, though clouds will be on the increase in the afternoon as a warm front approaches. Rain will arrive this evening, and tomorrow looks warmer than today...but also quite wet, unfortunately. As for Wednesday, it looks like a break in the weather is possible but with heavy rain coming in the afternoon. I fear Christmas Eve looks like it could be a total washout...but not without temperatures approaching 70 degrees, and the records should fall with shocking ease on that day. Christmas itself looks to be mostly sunny and rather similar to today, with the next chance of rain coming on Sunday.

The next chance for 3+" of snow is- New Years' Eve/New Years' Day- 15%. In this section, I will now post the reasons why I am concerned about certain dates in terms of model data

Today in weather history- December 21, 2012- The supposed 'end of the world' date is accompanied by an extremely strong storm in the northeast with extremely warm temperatures but also several inches of rain, and I still say that at my high school, which had many buildings, that was the wettest I can remember being as it was essentially a wind-driven rain directly into my face, and it was really miserable.
