12/11- STORM WATCH-- Beautiful Weekend this time...not so much next time!

HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE- WE MADE IT!!

Today is going to be a good day- we are going to be in the high 50s and experience partly to at times mostly sunny skies, especially during the afternoon. This sets up perfect weather for the weekend- temps will climb into the MID-60s tomorrow and Sunday and Monday before a nasty cold front moves through Monday afternoon and sends the temperatures down to the low 50s, only slightly above average. The big concern in the next week lies on Friday...as a coastal low moves into the northeast and has the potential to drop a significant snowfall on Connecticut next weekend. This is, of course, not set in stone by any means...but it's easily the most significant threat we've had so far this winter, so I'll go ahead and issue the STORM WATCH a bit earlier than usual. Regardless, that storm is the pattern changer we've been searching for...and winter will have arrived for good after that. So enjoy this weekend's 60 degree temps--you may well not see them again until late March or early April.

The next chance for >3" of snow is- A week from today, 12/18- there is a medium chance...30 to 50 percent.

Today in weather history- December 11, 2008- A low pressure system remarkably manages to drop as much as 8" of snow on South Louisiana, with an inch dropping on New Orleans--stunning!

Have a great weekend! If anything significant changes on the Friday storm, this is the place to find out!
