12/2- Still wet

Good Wednesday all-

The weather today is going to be pretty miserable, with rain still likely through much of the day, with increasing intensity at night as a low forms along the cold front and drops another half inch to inch of rain overnight tonight. Tomorrow, after the passage of the front, skies should clear out some, but I cannot rule out the possibility of flurries in the northern parts of the state. Otherwise, the weekend looks fine, but I'm watching the middle part of next week for a major nor'eater that could bring a very cold but very definite RAIN storm to New England as the cold air will be stuck up near Canada...so no snow for us! Unfortunately for winter haters though, there are strong signals of a very active and cold pattern beginning around 12/15...and potentially lasting until the middle part of March.

The next chance of a major snowstorm is- <7 days away

Today in weather history- December 2, 1925- A bizarrely late season hurricane makes landfall on the Florida peninsula...becoming the first and to date only December hurricane to landfall in the US. The storm eventually converts into a nor'easter, causing extensive winds in the northeast.
